There’s always

 room on the shelf

Introducing Sydney

Sydney Wybensinger was born and raised in Ohio, where they developed their love for writing in a small town. They still reside there with their fiancé and two cats, Ditzy and Dazzle. Sydney writes under three different pen names to allow each genre to develop its own audience and maintain a clear author brand while staying connected under one brand. Wybensinger Writes serves as the umbrella name for all three pen names. Sydney writes adult queer erotic romantasy under their (soon-to-be) married name, Sydney Rush, and they write adult contemporary queer erotic romances under their name Sydney LaShae. Their works feature complex and relatable characters navigating love, identity, and real-world challenges. They’re currently pursuing a degree in English and Creative Writing and developing the novels Beyond the Gate and Across the Way. They’re also co-authoring Recovery on Ice under the pen name S&S Ruship. They hope to pursue publication while continuing to craft stories of intimacy, emotional depth, and characters readers are sure to fall in love with. Sydney firmly believes that even though every genre has been written and every subgenre has been explored, every voice has not, and there is always room on the shelf for more.

Sydney LaShae
The name Sydney LaShae comes from Sydney's first and middle name. The pen name is home to their queer erotic contemporary stories. You can find Christmas novels, such as Across the Way. You can also find a variety of other tropes and various couple pairings, mainly MM with the occasional MMM, FF, or FFF. Sydney's contemporary novels feature relatable characters, found family, and meaningful relationships.

S&S Ruship
The name S&S Ruship comes from the first initials of Sydney and her writing partner's names. The last name is a combination of both names and represents their shared hockey works. You can find stories about players and the world around them. Each novel can be read as a standalone within the same universe. S&S's novels feature found family, acceptance, lovable characters, and relationships worth the risk.

Meet the other half of S&S Ruship: Sylvia Blankinship

Sylvia Blankinship was born and raised in Texas. Imagination has always been at the forefront of her life, which has helped when she found herself in stranger-than-fiction situations. She loves storytelling and poetry. She has a poem titled “Wedding Day” published in the Waco Cultural Arts Fest: Wordfest Anthology of 2016. She is a mother of three grown, beautiful young women, and she is currently a caregiver in home health care. Sylvia spends her remaining time working closely with Sydney to co-author novels such as Recovery on Ice and Scandal on Ice under their pen name S&S Ruship. She plans to pursue traditional publication while working on future novels. She enjoys developing relatable characters and settings that readers can immerse themselves in and relate to emotionally. Sylvia believes that if you lose yourself in the pages of a book, you can find a new aspect of yourself within the words.

What's next for Sydney:
Sydney is currently taking a short writing break while they prepare for their wedding. After the summer, they plan to resume outlining Beyond the Gate and continue drafting Across the Way and Recovery on Ice. They also plan to update their newsletter and Behind the Pages on the first of the month. Sydney will also be graduating later this year with their Bachelor's in English and Creative Writing.
